This is the main reason why we decided to write this blog in the first place. THE WEDDING. We can’t wait for it!!
We’ve got 2 dates and 4 events, and we thought it could get pretty confusing for our guests. So, let us break it down in detail.
The Ceremonies
Solemnisation
The solemnisation is performed in local Theravada Buddhism customs.
Date: Friday, 4 October 2013
Time: 9 – 10 am
Venue: Vihara Borobudur, Jalan Imam Bonjol No.21, Medan 20151, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia
Guests of all religions are welcome to attend the solemnisation, as long as each guest respects the Buddhism traditions.
Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony is performed in Chinese traditions. This is kind of a private event for relatives and closest friends, but since it is included in the formal invitation, we thought it’s good to standardise it here. The Chinese wedding ceremony is held on Sunday, 6th October 2013 at 10 AM at the groom’s residence.
The Receptions
There are 2 receptions, one is hosted by the bride and her family, while another is hosted by the groom and his family. As much as we love to have you in both receptions, due to capacity constraint, we have decided to invite most of our guests to either one of the receptions. Kindly refer to our save-the-date email sent to you to check the date(s) of reception(s) you’ve been invited to. For our relatives and friends in Medan, please wait for the formal invitations to be handed or mailed to you at a later date.
The Bride’s Reception

Time: 7 – 10 pm
Venue: Taipan Restaurant, Capital Building Level 8, Jalan Putri Hijau No. 1A, Medan 20111, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia
The Groom’s Reception
Date: Sunday, 6 October 2013
Time: 7 – 10 pm
Venue: Grand Ballroom, Grand Angkasa International Hotel, Jalan Sutomo No.1, Medan 20235, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia
